It's my first update since April, such a long break huh?

well can't be helped been preoccupied with my school work and my laziness. Seriously holiday is such an under rated word nowadays to me now it simply means more time for school to eat up or later lessons or home schooling but that is just me and my lazy attitude. The good thing is that i can sleep longer and behave like a sloth more often. LOL

Just yesterday I went to visit the doctor, i now can sorta predict what he was going to do since i visit him every 6 months for my medical condition, most of the time it's painful but this time it's not so much but i came out very dizzy after the check up. I could see the world spinning before me!

Oh and just a bit of info on the statistical side my blog has passed the 500 visit mark in 198 days since the creation of this blog! Yay! That gives me about 2.631313131..... visits per day,Yay!( correct as on 15 June 2010 with 521 visits) Sure it's a minimal and ignorable feat but it makes me happy so visitors of the blog, those who do visit, THANK YOU! But on the side note it irks me to think that the last person to tag me was on 29 January 2010 but never mind maybe cause i never advertised enough.

so anyway thanks for reading!

Looking back

Hi! It's been more than a month since I updated this blog, truth is I do not have the luxury of time to do so, school is really busy and demanding so I must prioritize.
Well school is stressful as usual, there is a lot to learn, calculate, revise etc. plus the PE regiment there is also very physically demanding there are days whereby climbing down the stairs is harder and more painful than climbing up! Imagine that! worse my ability to move properly also became limited temporarily. <--- sometimes i feel like this LOL. I've also been up later nowadays cause of homework resulting in less sleep and a very tired start to school.Last week I visited my old school's speech day and I also visited my CCA who was performing that night. It brought back lots of memories of the old times and made me a little sad to see time go by like that, but I also met old friends which cheered me up. Watching the prize giving ceremony and the performances was a little surreal for me as I was once up there doing the things they did so yeah. overall very enjoyable though a little mishap happened when milk was spilled on the floor and I became a maid for a while.

Oh nearly forgot though it's a little too late these are my reviews of the movies I watched during the holidays or the period when i am not blogging.
Dear John-------3.5/5 ( nice and entertaining movie but plot is a bit cliched)
Alice in wonderland 3D--------2.5/5 (cliched and weak plot but the effects are quite nice on 3D, in my opinion watch it if you have lots of free time.)

Summer wars------4.5/5 (beautiful animation and wonderful plot, best movie I've seen in ages and best of the bunch here. This Movie is RECOMMENDED.)
Clash of the Titans 3D--------3/5 ( cliched and generic plot, ending was very okayish though my friend hated it, on the plus side it has beautiful visual effects, wonderful fighting scenes and an epic soundtrack)

Finally to my daughter I know it's a bit late but daddy has been busy last week so i cannot upload it earlier, so anyway here are the photos I captured on that night.
Friend did not know how to zoom so it's a bit small

                                                                                                                               Say Cheese!!!

Meet the Ghost of the AVA room, Scary.....

Sotong week

Just as the title stated, the first official week for lessons in my new school kick started after the Chinese new year holidays and it was what I called sotong ( adjective, Derived from the Malay language meaning does not know what is going on. Similar meaning to 'blur' or absentminded, Singlish/Malay and it's also the Malay word for Octopus) week. I mean i did not know what was going on and got lost in the school somehow, oops I mean VERY LOST.

<------- felt like that when asking myself "o...k.... where am I?" or "where am i supposed to go now?" LOL

Worst case scenario 30 minutes late for lecture but it was a mass lecture so i was barely noticeable. I even asked the teacher 3 times where my venue was, it must have been annoying for her and I was also annoyed getting lost, right now I am contemplating if I even have a sense of direction.Worst It happened for two out of the three days imagine the annoyance with myself.

Anyway It's now the weekends i can now take it a bit easier and hopefully get a compass or a global positioning system or something. So PEACE

It has been a LONG LONG LONG TIME since I updated this blog(18 days...) that's because I am very busy and tired from my new School's orientation program, it lasts for 2 weeks and we are not even done yet!Talks and lecture galore, some games but majority are talks on the different subject combinations, it left my legs numb from prolonged sitting lol. The game s are OK but according to the seniors last years was more fun. The first few days of orientation I was very emotionally unstable and am still am, face it I really really MISS MISS MISS my old school and my friends there and who have left the school already, I was close to crying a few times and cried once, I mean it's hard to move on knowing you will leave wonderful memories and horrid ones behind(yes..... you read right horrid). I was also very lonely in my new school as not many of my school mates went there so it actually hurt to see other people talk to each other.( It's turning into a rather gloomy post lol)

Speaking of which I will have to work VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY HARD HARD HARD to survive there as the subjects there are very difficult and complicated.People please tag me and give me some advice to help me cope with the above issues, I beg of you...

Oh well I guess I will put a funny video to light up this rather gloomy post. LOL(halfheartedly)

It has been a while since i updated this blog so i am doing today. Been a tough and head aching and depressing first 2 weeks of 2010 for me but I'm still living with it anyway it was so depressing I was in no mood to blog anyway but I guess that's life, not everything turns out good. Results for my exam weren't that good so sign..... now it's the posting of new schools that worries me but it won't help anyway, it's just human nature to get worried.

Anyway, these few days have been good for me cause i can finally put the choosing of the schools behind me for now. Just yesterday I stepped on dog shit (EWWWWW BIG TIME) well it wasn't that bad just on the edge of my shoe so no biggie but still it's a funny and nasty experience, just one complain though can't they do their business somewhere else like a grass patch or something and not on the residential area near the playground where people walk by, oh well next time I better watch my step.

Today I visited my friends at my schools C.C.A. fair and it was very noisy as usual like every year, I also went Orchard Road after that with my friends today. It was fun and tiring, walking from lucky plaza to Takashimaya to Ion orchard to Far east plaza, back to lucky plaza and finally the Paragon. wow we made a circle and overshot the circle! Still I enjoyed it and hope I get invited to go with them again! However, eating lunch there was not enjoyable for my wallet because it can get pricey depending on what you choose to eat, food there was quite good though.
<-------------------- reaction when I found out I overshot my budget lol. Must bring calculator next time... Financially prepared (had reserves for emergency) but not mentally prepared lol. Today I want to share one of my favorite songs that always calms me down and puts me in a good mood. It's Angel Gate by Japanese pop duo FictionJuntion YUUKA from their 2006 album Circus. It is sounds as sweet as the title though I don't know what the lyrics means but just enjoy the music.

Today I went to visit ion orchard ( a long time after it first opened i know ), it is a very nice place, with lots of things that I could never afford (lol). So like most malls in orchard road it's filled with branded fashion boutiques and lots of other branded stuff that can burn pitfalls in the average person's wallet.
<-------------Reaction when I saw the prices of things that were sold there (lol).
I found The Prologue bookstore on the top floor is very cool and I had fun at the Sony showroom whereby they let you try some of the games there also it was interesting to see the antiques (might be wrong) that were on sale there. However the toilets take the cake as I found out that mirrors DO make the room seem bigger that is until you just so happen to not see you're reflection and walk right into it nose first! It was first constructed in 1914 thus making it about 94-95 years old! It is docked at Vivo City Berth, Singapore until today, 26 December 2009. That's right I visited it on it's last day in Singapore. Admission is free and going up the ship was fun yet scary, instead of the conventional steps they had these steps that were curved like a ladder except with no gaps in between ( I don't blame you if you don't get it as it's very hard to describe it, this is the best i can do), what made it scary was that I am afraid of heights and the "staircase" was shaking when i was climbing aboard! Plus it was drizzling ( so much for "wet" post-Christmas).

There we were directed into the cabin for kids to play games, I obliviously did not take part and just went forward deeper into the ship. There is a limited part of the ship you could visit for free, guided tours are S$10 for adults and S$5 for children if you want venture deeper into the ship. I for one being confused as to where the book sale (yes book sale...) was held nearly wandered to the part of the ship you were supposed to pay to enter!

Anyway, minor misadventures aside, the main reason I wanted to get on the ship was the International Book Sale they were having (hehe) on the top deck. I was expecting to burn a hole in my pocket and spend some of my hard saved savings but in the end I only spent S$4 there, Key chain S$1 x 3 + Ice cream S$0.50 x 2 (me and my bro), i don't know whether to be happy or sad! I wasn't interested in many of the books there, most were non-friction, christian books, Kids books, lifestyle books and Cookbooks. I was expecting more books like Agatha Christie or Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and more " mature" books but as a consolation i found Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys books!

Anyway it was a fun and interesting experience too bad they are going to scrap the ship by the and of this year as it was getting too expensive to maintain so it can be considered a white elephant, they also were slashing prices, especially for souvenirs, like crazy as much as 50% but postcards were reduced by 90%, however, they were S$1 to begin with so it wouldn't really count as a discount as S$1 per postcard sounds like a ripoff.
I might upload the pictures tomorrow as it is getting late and for some reason it's taking very long to upload the images. Oh yeah, I decided to stop the video of the day segment temporarily as my blog is taking longer to load so no video of the day,i might put one every now and then, so as to whether I should stop putting videos on my blog altogether please comment on the Cbox!

<img hidden="true" style="border: medium none ; Only a few more hours to go. It seems as though the weather is also fitting for Christmas as it was snowing but since it i am in a tropical country it turned to rain! So this year we might have a "wet" Christmas rather than a "white" one. Today I went to watch Sherlock Holmes @ the cinemas. The movie was very so-so, the first part was all talking blah blah blah and then BAM it get's interesting in the later part. The action scenes were pretty good but their attempts at comedy were a bit bland, I wasn't cracking up as much as the guy behind me (or it's just that I don't have much of a sense of humor) and they seem to be talking a bit too fast so I didn't catch what they were saying (maybe my ears weren't functioning as well today) . The best part of the film was probably at the end where the climax is, it got really exciting and I was at half my seat. Overall the movie was interesting but at the same time a bore, i feel that it has too much dialog and it sorts of drags at times, not to mention a few plot points i don't get. So , in my opinion, 2.75/5 stars as I actually felt bored most of the time while watching the movie maybe die hard Sherlock fans would enjoy it more, I don't know I'm no expert movie critic.

Today there will be no video of the day as I am saving up my Christmas tunes for tomorrow~
SO HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went to my cousin-I-have-never-met-before's wedding yesterday and i think it was a wonderful night for them, for me,it was rather below average. I am not referring their dinner, i am referring to my experiences throughout the night. I seem to have many cousins cause i get invited to my relative's wedding at least once a year and it turns out that i have never met them, i can't even tell whether the Bride or the Groom is related to me but that was not what spoiled my night. The problem with these gatherings is that sometimes your parents talk too much about you to friends, Grand uncles, grandfather's sister etc. and get you embarrassed, well that's what happened to me. One of my parents just won't stop talking about my negative points and went a bit overboard and make me seem like a illiterate child, of course i will get angry, I mean people would normally want to leave a good or at least neutral impression on people, especially ones that you don't know much about. Not to say i am perfect or in the right but I have my flaws, I acknowledge that but it was going a bit too far. Worst I worsened my name by having an outburst and showing undesirable attitude but it made my parent quiet for a while so at that point i was also in the wrong. The Walk at Clarke Quay after the wedding really help me to cool down, with Christmas around the corner it made the place more brighter and Clarke Quay is a very cool and happening place full of fashionable restaurants and bars, I really enjoyed it. Anyway my parent and i have forgiven each other and made up so everything turned out alright. My other regret that night was not taking photos at Clarke Quay as i didn't want my phone to be stolen as it was already late at night. However, it's more exciting then the last just by a teeny bit. Apparently my mother walked into a lift and found feces in it ,origin not specified. (unusual place to be found, in my opinion)
Ewww gross, must be a NASTY experience, poor Mom, she warned me about it so i have been avoiding that particular lift for a few days now and have only used it again recently, still it must have been gross.
This week was also my Annual Bedroom Spring Cleaning Day (the one before was not the full one but this is). Why annual? Simple, I've neglected the cleanliness of my room due to my studies and school work and thus not having time to clean my room's "hidden" areas (eg. behind and under furniture, hard to reach places etc.), my room still looks presentable either way but since it is the holidays,i thought, why not clean up those areas.
Cleaning it was like mining for gold. I had to dislodge the "rocks" in the form of furniture to find the "gold" in the form of dust bunnies! It was a horrible and tiring experience. I was horrified at the amount of "gold"(dust bunnies) and"gold dust"(dust) found and floating on the air as i cleaned my room and as a bonus i also found "platinum"(trash).
I was sneezing like hell in there. The "mask" was uncomfortable and i only thought of wearing it near the end of the cleaning (silly me). It took about 3-4 hours to get it done and i was glad it was over, one of the most irritating experiences ever, sneezing and itching away for some time.

Today's video of the day features a very cute and innovative money box from Japan:

Aww.. Today I just finished watching an anime called D.N.Angel, i think it's quite good actually. It is basically about a guy who, whenever he thinks about his crush, transforms into the famous thief named Dark, who (of course ) steals precious works of art right under the police's noses making them seem useless. I've also read the manga already though it is currently incomplete as the manga is an ongoing series unlike the anime which only has about 26 episodes.Oh well now i need to find something else to occupy my time.

Today's video of the day is the music video of the theme for the mega epic Chinese Movie Red Cliff part II ( yes there is a part one, both parts are about 2 hours long so it's a 4 hour movie altogether) titled 久遠の河 (kwon no kawa) or translated river of eternity. It is sung by the up and rising Chinese/Tibetan artist Alan Dawa Dolma who is active in Japan. This song became her first #1 on the Oricon weekly singles chart (think Japanese version of the Billbord charts) and her first single to sell over the 30000 mark on the Oricon. This song has both Japanese and Chinese versions to it so today for the 2nd consecutive time i'm going to put up 2 videos. Yay!!!
Don't forget to comment or say something in the cbox!!!!!!! (comments system not working sorry...)

Sign... these few days have been uneventful for me so I'm just updating my blog to show that it's not dead or anything. However I have been reading some random Manga here and there to occupy my time so here's today's video of the day for this short and sweet post.
This is the piano solo version of forbidden colors which was featured in the 1983 film Merry Christmas, Mr Lawrence composed and played Japanese Musician, Composer, Record producer and actor Ryuichi Sakamoto who has also won an Academy, Grammy and Golden Globe award. This song is one of my favorites as it is very relaxing and has a nostalgic feeling to it (and it sort of fits the mood i am in right now.ha ha) so listen to the music, relax and unwind.

P.S. I personally prefer this one over the piano one as it sounds more traditional but it's just my opinion what's yours?

Yesterday I went to King Bhumibol Adulyadej's birthday celebration at the Thai embassy. I know it's a little late but it's understandable as many people work on weekdays and on Saturday so it's always held the Sunday after the King's Birthday. You can enter as long as your Thai or one of your parents is Thai. The place was crowded on that day and it was not very easy to get around. It's my 3rd time going there so I'm not that surprised. everyone of us was given a candle and a goodie bag( yay!) there was not much in it so I'll skip the part of what's in the bag. There was also some singing too but i didn't sing cause i don't know what they were singing about so it was weird for me...The candles were then put in some sandbox( that's the best i can describe it) as a blessing for the king and wish him good health ( i think...).Anyway the best part of being there was the FREE food! I ate until i was full and i think I gained a bit of weight so here are two pictures above. I was watching the parade they had in front of the Grand Palace in Bangkok via the internet and i was amazed at how the Grand Palace looked at the background and the sheer number of people who were there to celebrate it. Honestly i just tuned , with my mother,in the later part of the show near the end so i haven't seen much. i didn't know what they were talking about so i had my mother translate for me. They also showed celebrations from all over the world like in Dubai and Chicago so it was a cool experience. I have just finished a Manga called Spiral: Suiri No Kizuna (Eng: Spiral: The Bonds of Reasoning) by Shidodaria Kyou also known for his work in The Record Of a Fallen Vampire/Vampire Juuji Kai (maybe I should read that next!) with art by Mizuno Eita. Basically the story revolves around the younger brother of a brilliant detective who disappears two years prior to the story line leaving his wife and younger brother behind in order investigate the mystery behind the "Blade Children"( Oooooo scary... ). The story starts off with the younger brother being falsely accused for murder in which he solves it himself resulting in him being drawn into investigating the mysterious "Blade Children" and their link to his vanished older brother. The Manga is of the mystery genre with slices of comedy+drama and a sprinkling of romance between the characters. My opinion is that the plot is very good as it is unique and has lots of suspense though it can get a bit ridiculous at times, it also has plot twists that hopefully do not confuse you as much as some other Mangas( not naming...). An interesting note is that there are several biblical references within the manga that helps explain certain events within the story ( not christian so correct me if i am wrong) but I'm won't spoil anything else. Overall a good Manga to read if you like the Mystery genre,if not you can give it a try or pass,it it's up to you . My opinion 4 stars out of 5 .

In other news today's video of the day is the music video of Ayumi Hamasaki AKA The EMPRESS of J-Pop's song Jewel which cost a whopping 100 MILLON Yen to produce making it one of the most EXPENSIVE music videos produced! So it's about 1 Million USD( Not taking into account in current currency rises and fluctuations between countries). WOW. The result is this sparking diamond studded winter wonderland which will amazes you as much as the amount of money gone into making this video:

Today is the day where my sibling went to check his streaming results, we didn't know what time to be there so we went there early in the morning and i arrived H.A.O.A.
